Slumdog
And with that stunning denouement, here are some past winners that really pissed me off.
• No County for Old Men. It’s not that I particularly liked the other nominees, I just think No Country was the most disjointed, overrated, mistake-riddled movie since… I don’t know, the previous Cohen Brothers flick.
• American Beauty. It beat out The Green Mile and that’s just wrong. It beat out Cider House Rules and that’s too bad. It beat out The Sixth Sense and that’s just fucking ludicrous.
• Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan. Also just fucking ludicrous.
• Titanic bests Goodwill Hunting. Ludicrous AND retarded. Titanic shouldn’t have topped As Good as it Gets.

Boy are we in sync on the winners over real winners. Slumdog too…went together like a 3-D puzzle. Well told story-moving- everything really meshed.

Slumdog was actually a pretty good movie. Though they should have left out the dance sequence at the end. Indians are not known for their amazing grace and rhythm. No Country was good also, until the end when the brothers left for lunch and the crew decided to pull a prank on them and end their movie with absolutely nothing that made sense. Why kill off the protagonist and not show it? Does the psycho kill the wife? And what the fuck was up with Tommy Lee just retiring in the middle?
