On the radio (remember that song?)

On Friday Jan. 16 at 8:30 p.m., I will be interviewed live at this website. What this means to you, the hypercritical reader, is this: the interview was arranged last minute after another author backed out. Because of this, I have no idea who is conducting the interview, what he or she will ask, or what in what format it will proceed.

See where I’m going here? That’s right. There is a good chance that I will stammer, stutter and say something profoundly stupid, like a vice presidential candidate who goes into an interview on national television completely unprepared. I might even babble on about how I can see Russia from my backyard, though I cannot. I think that’s Yugoslavia.

Tune in if you can. I really dig telephone interviews because the faceless anonymity allows a blubbering hack the opportunity to come off as cool and spontaneous whereas a television or audience appearance tends to expose the same hack as pacing, pale jackass.

But still. Recall the potential for life-changing embarrassment and check it out.
