Feeding frenzy
I remember the day when we all thought website bookmarks were the greatest thing since the Microsoft paperclip assistant. Why, all you had to do to stay on top of things was remember to fan through your list of two hundred or so to see if there was any new content. It was so easy, in fact, that you usually forgot to do it. By the time you got around to checking “101SexTips.com” again, the site had been taken over by some corporation and you never did learn all those carnal tricks.
Sucker. Should have gotten yourself a feedreader.
If you don’t have one, you should. A feedreader is like a secretary who delivers the mail, but only those pieces that you are likely to enjoy. Tell that secretary your likes and dislikes and only good things will end up on your desk.
If you happen to be a dinosaur who has no idea what a feedreader does, it’s simple. If you find a website you like and plan to continue visiting, subscribe to it. Subscribe to one, two or a thousand sites and your reader will let you know when something new has been added. A couple times a day, you can check your reader for new content and make snap decisions about what interests you. Read the new stuff on the spot or flag it for later. Whatever. That feedreader/secretary wants to make you happy.
Personally, I use Google feedreader because it’s super simple and intuitive. But don’t try to me because your liver can’t take it. Here is a list of the most popular. And when you get one and set it up, don’t forget to subscribe to The Screaming Room. Fail to do so, I will take your secretary out, get her pregnant and pin it on you.

Yes, RSS feeds are the best thing since those dancing .gif chipmunks. If you need more info about how to do it: http://breakingeven.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/05/why-rss-rocks.html

I started with Bloglines but switched to Google Reader a while ago. Using a reader is the ONLY way to go — good topic, Mark.
